In the News: An American in Fenestrelle!

My rough translation based on spanish (please correct me if I get anything wrong!)

Student of Anthropology of the Sword: An American in Fenestrelle

Sunday 25th of August, during the traditional show of the Fenestrelle folkloric group “Bal Da Sabre” a young American student observed the typical dance of the small mountain city. Citizen of Massachusetts and living near Boston, the 22 year old Jeremy Carter-Gordon has received an educational grant that allows him to live one year in Europe to study and observe to *improve the thesis* of his study: anthropology of the sword dance. In 2008 the group “Bal da Sabre” participated in a folk dance festival in York “On this occasion” said Paolo Guiot-member of the group “We were able to meet other dancers like us and make new contacts, including some of the americans. The surprise came a few months ago: a request by the student to come for a couple days to collect stories of the locals. “And” Guiot explains” hes is here to learn about our history and traditions. He is part of a group like ours, so we’ll see if the show in the afternoon is similar.
